For this week’s drawing class we worked with ink and charcoal on the end of bamboo sticks. This was really fun because it forced me to loosen up my marks and be freer with line and mark making. I found the use of bamboo sticks more fun and also challenging because of the lack of control I had over the the charcoal. Comparing my first and last drawing of the session, my sense of form improved a lot, and I tackled my fear of head proportions and found that once I let go that I really enjoyed myself. Overall, I’m happy with the outcome of this lesson and the gradual improvement of my skills, as I’ve never done life drawing before.
