This week’s lesson was drawing for life by using lines and angles. With each drawing, the skills gradually built up and tone was eventually added, using the side of the charcoal stick, and the drawings started to come to life more. I feel that my drawings improved each time, and that looking at my drawing from a distance helped me see what was working and what was not. For example, in the third drawing, I could only see from a distance that the head wasn’t proportional to the rest of the body. other areas needed working on too, but that was the main issue. however, in the final drawing, I paid more attention to getting the head proportions correct, and regularly stepped back to look at my drawing and decide what parts needed editing. I think that this session was helpful to me, and i will continue to practice using the techniques and skills I’ve learnt.
